Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Mobile Hardware

  • iPhone 15 Pro Max

This is my daily driver. It's actually the first iPhone I've ever owned and I'm loving it. The camera is amazing and the battery life is great.

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

I’ve been using the Fold for a few months now and I love it. It’s the perfect device for reading and watching videos.

  • Apple Watch Ultra 2

I am not really a watch person but I love the Apple Watch. It’s the perfect way to keep track of my health and stay connected.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, M2 Max, 32GB RAM (2023)

I got this bad boy with the M2 Max chip and 32GB of RAM so I don’t have to think about performance for the next few years. I’m constantly amazed at how much power is packed into such a small package.

  • ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQDM

I’ve tried a lot of monitors over the years but this one is the only one that’s stuck around. I love the color accuracy and the refresh rate is perfect for me.

  • Logitech MX Keys S

I’ve been using Logitech keyboards for years and I still love it. The keys feel great and the backlighting is perfect for working late nights.

  • Logitech MX Master 3S

I’ve tried a lot of mice over the years but this one is the only one that’s stuck around.

Development tools

  • API-Lib

By far the best Backend Tool I have ever used. It's a great tool for building APIs and it's super fast. I might be a little biased since my Team and I built it. But its better than anything else I've used.

  • Visual Studio Code

I’ve tried a lot of editors over the years but this one is the only one that’s stuck around. I love the speed and the extensions are great.

  • FlutterFlow

When I need to build something quickly, I reach for FlutterFlow. It’s the fastest way I’ve found to build a new app from scratch.

Design

  • Figma

We started using Figma as just a design tool but now it’s become our virtual whiteboard for the entire company.

Productivity

  • Linear

They are quite new on the market but I love their approach to project management. It’s simple and fast.

  • Gather

We used traditional remote work tools for years but Gather has changed the game for us. It’s the closest thing to being in the same room as your team.

  • Discord

I know it’s a gaming app but we use it for everything. It’s the best way to keep in touch with the team.
